Goodbye to a Good Marine on Good Friday

Seven years in the Marine Corps, and my active duty career has come to a close. It was a happy, yet sad time. I am looking forward to what the future holds, but it is a bit scary to leave a career that I was pretty good at and enjoyed (most of the time).
On my last day, my friends and co-workers gathered for my farewell luncheon. There were 20-30 folks there, including my two favorite girls who always make every event more interesting.
The girls enjoyed a nutritious lunch of fried fish, Cheetos and juice boxes.

And then proceeded to run around while my boss was doing the award presentation. Ava actually planted her bottom in the green bush.

In case you are wondering, I received the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

By the way, you have to love the Marine Corps' maternity cammies...can't you just imagine me running through the woods with my M16, hiding behind trees, diving to the ground, and low crawling through a ditch.

"Get your butt down!!! My butt is down, it is my belly!!!"

Congratulations Kristin! What an accomplishment, and you still look great in camo! Also, happy birthday! The house looks fantastic, too, by the way. Man, I'm really sucking at keeping up with things for you...when you get a chance in the midst of all this fun, please email your current mailing address and how to best get ahold of you!

love,
Annie
