Took off at noon on Friday to make the long journey north for my family's cookout on the mountain. Our first stop was Washington DC to spend the night and hang out with my best friend and her family. Despite the late hour and threatening looking clouds, her husband insisted that we go to Yards Park (by the Nationals Stadium) for the evening. I am so glad we went! There was live music, a reflecting pool/fountain for the kids to play in, and Crystal brought the wine and a very yummy picnic dinner. We had so much fun that we didn't get the kids to bed until after 10pm.
P.S. Gabe has actually delightful all evening!
